| Name: | Jennifer Chambers |
|---|---|
| Birthdate: | 10-17 |
House: Ravenclaw
Age/Year: 7th year, 18 years old.
Physical Appearance:
Though not the most attractive girl ever, Jen is
decidedly content with her appearance. She's a bit on the short side
at 5'3, and was graced with a gymnast's small-boned figure, though
she's more likely to describe it as "boyish". She wears her light
brown hair long and pulled back into a ponytail. Her eyes are a touch
small and somewhere between green and brown. When she was a child, she
chased a butterfly into a glass door and ended up with several small
scars on her arms and legs; she jokingly refers to them as "scratch
marks", feeling they're too small and faded to be any bother. If asked
to describe herself physically, she'd most likely roll her eyes and
say it was a boring question - appearances just don't mean much to
her.
Personality:
Jen is a bit on the geeky side, with a passionate love
for history. She finds Quidditch overrated and loathes the aversion to
using Voldemort's name, but doesn't use it out of a desire to fit the
social norm. She can get fairly anal-retentive and always needs to
know the why of things - this, in fact, caused the breakup of her only
relationship to date. She can be overly analytical, often trying too
hard to understand something instead of simply acting. However, this
does help her excel in her studies. She has a wide range of friends,
and tends to remain fairly light-hearted with all of them, tossing off
jokes at almost every opportunity. She rarely lets people get too
close, though, feeling her obsessive aspects tend to drive people
away; that, in turn, leads her to further self-analyzation, which only
increases the obsessive aspect. Still, she does remain fairly stable
emotionally.
Brief History:
Jen comes from a Muggle family, but took to wizard life
quite easily, as she was an imaginative child. Her mother and father,
both teachers, were thrilled to see their child find such a unique and
helpful education; they, too, adjusted to her new status fairly
quickly, and have remained supportive of her. Her first year at
Hogwarts was somewhat lonely, but by the end of second year, she had
developed a wider social circle. She has a younger sister, May, who is
a third-year in Hogwarts; the two are fairly close, but rarely see
each other, as May was sorted into Hufflepuff and is quite busy with
Quidditch practice.
Other Info:
It's her last year at Hogwarts, so Jen is feeling
remarkably nostalgic about her time here, and is (somewhat childishly)
resentful that Voldemort's return is leaving a dark spot on her last
moments. She spends a lot of time daydreaming about life after he's
defeated, and the calm that will return; though she knows from her
studies of history that that peace is rarely anything but temporary,
she still allows herself the pleasure of hoping. She tends to avoid
the topic of Voldemort if it's brought up, and wishes everyone else
would just stop talking about it. What she really wants, right now, is
to focus on her future outside of school and her studies.
